Someone STEALING my ART!! on Etsy

Artists be aware! The listing below was brought to my attention today, someone on etsy created a listing with MY painting above, asking another artist to COPY!! MY painting but for less money! Can you believe the audacity??! This is beyond copyright infringement and just plain sickening if you ask me! I have contacted etsy & will be checking to make sure this item is removed by this evening at the latest! And how sweet of them to have the deadline on my birthday!
Oil Panting of Westie Atop Vintage Suitcase
posted 6/13/2010 , expires 7/4/2010
I'm looking to buy an oil painting on stretched canvas that is identical (or at least very similar) to this one:

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzz9yA9_c0CEE51jdVnU1iS5d8ezijgU2UwAY9eiy4Oxzol_LkOpeLqFAYosSITZTChTkNVZBl47t8JjE1F7fOxDFca_J7nN3pXbLn3WEE0R0Uj7WjlSFtTak21Mfv24KpjDBe4NV4cLl_/s400/WestieAtopVintageCaseBLOG.jpg

Please let me know in your bid what you would charge for such a piece (the price I have in this listing is just a placeholder since I know everyone's bids will vary greatly) and also what size you are bidding. I am open to any size between 11x14" and 18x24".

The deadline date I listed above is the date by which I would like to have the piece in my hands. I realize this may be a stretch so if it is not possible to finish it by that date I can probably be a little flexible.

In your bid, please include the price to ship the piece to Virginia.

Thanks and I look forward to reviewing your bids!

Blog Party! Flea Market Style! ;)

Over at Flea Market Style they are having their 1st ever Blog Party! You can share your favorite flea market/thrift store/yard sale find by creating a post and linking up to their post, pretty easy and a bit of fun for everyone! My favorite find is one of my vintage suitcases...I love anything vintage or antique, and have incoporated several things into my paintings. I often wonder who once owned this suitcase and where did they travel with it? Perhaps a shopping excursion in New York, or visting relatives abroad...one can only imagine!

Westie Atop a Vintage Suitcase, Painting in Oil

"Westie Atop a Vintage Suitcase," 9"x 12",
oil on stretched canvas,

(SOLD, THANK YOU!!)

(10% will be donated to Coalition to Unchain Dogs)

It's been awhile since I've done a vintage inspired dog portrait, so I decided to paint one this past week. I decided on a Westie as I find them so fun to paint, and with a name like 'Baron von Gizmo II' how could I resist?! This piece may already be spoken for, but if not, it will become available in the next couple of days. Keep in mind only 11 weeks remain until the holidays!;)

(*note: I replaced the photo, but there is still a glare coming from the right, I'll have to see if I can get a better photo in the next day or two...paintings always look better in real life!:)

Rainy Day in Paris, Rainy Day in Michigan...

(close up view)

8"x10", oil on stretched canvas,(SOLD)

I was a bit bummed out yesterday as I had hoped to get a good photo of this piece that I have been working on for the past 2 days, but of course it was raining here in Michigan...as cold and dreary as dreary can be. But then it hit me, how fitting it was that it was raining as this piece is centered around Gustave Caillebotte's "Paris Street; Rainy Day". I had a bit of a chuckle and listed it on Etsy anyway. I just replaced the photo, although it still is a bit warmer in tone than what may appear, paintings always look better in real life!I also do commission work, so if there is a painting you might like a study done of feel free to drop me an email!
