Have a Wonderful 4th of July & Please, Remember Our Veterans...

Have a wonderful, family filled 4th of July and please take a moment to remember all those who have given their lives in order to keep this nation free...as well as those currently serving. My grandfather served in WWII as a Military Policeman in Normandy and was buried yesterday with military honors...he was always so proud to have served our nation. And would you believe, during the service, as we sang the familiar hymn "Beyond the Sunset," an ever so slight ray of sunlight fell upon my song book and I believe that light was coming straight out of Heaven as I know my Grandpa would've been smiling down on us at that very moment.

  1. Lara,
I'm so sorry for your loss. You are so right, the sunbeam was your Grandpa sending you a warm, sweet hello from above - so wonderful!

Thank you for reminding us all why we are so fortunate to live so freely...it's because of men and women like your grandfather.

    Be well,
    Melissa

  6. This was beautiful, Lara.
Thanks for sharing about your grandfather, and a big thank you to him for serving.
I believe it was your grandfather letting you know he's fine.

  7. My mother-in-law passed away on May 1st, my mother's birthday. It is very hard to lose someone. I am very sorry for your loss. It hurts, but do try to think often of all the wonderful words and moments you've shared. He would want you to do that. The actual moment of passing is often very interesting. It happened just the way it was supposed to.
