Have a Wonderful 4th of July & Please, Remember Our Veterans...

Have a wonderful, family filled 4th of July and please take a moment to remember all those who have given their lives in order to keep this nation free...as well as those currently serving. My grandfather served in WWII as a Military Policeman in Normandy and was buried yesterday with military honors...he was always so proud to have served our nation. And would you believe, during the service, as we sang the familiar hymn "Beyond the Sunset," an ever so slight ray of sunlight fell upon my song book and I believe that light was coming straight out of Heaven as I know my Grandpa would've been smiling down on us at that very moment.

  1. Lara,
I'm so sorry for your loss. You are so right, the sunbeam was your Grandpa sending you a warm, sweet hello from above - so wonderful!

Thank you for reminding us all why we are so fortunate to live so freely...it's because of men and women like your grandfather.

    Be well,

  2. ~Wonderful tribute Lara!

Thank you very much for visiting me today and your kindness as always is appreciated. You're a sweetie and I'm so happy I have found your blog. Your Grandpa was a true hero.

    ~Happy 4th! ~Melissa ;)

  3. Super tribute! Your grandpa is very handsome! Thank you for reminding us about the Veterans! I do remember to be thankful for our country and our freedom but we do need to remember those who helped us keep it!
    Hugs, Lisa

  4. What a wonderful memorial for your Grandpa. Melissa is so right. Your Grandpa was an American Hero!

  5. A very touching post, have a safe and happy 4th

  6. This was beautiful, Lara.
Thanks for sharing about your grandfather, and a big thank you to him for serving.
I believe it was your grandfather letting you know he's fine.

  7. My mother-in-law passed away on May 1st, my mother's birthday. It is very hard to lose someone. I am very sorry for your loss. It hurts, but do try to think often of all the wonderful words and moments you've shared. He would want you to do that. The actual moment of passing is often very interesting. It happened just the way it was supposed to.

  8. I'm sure he was smiling down on you. Thank you for the beautiful tribute to all our servicemen, past and present. Have a safe Holiday weekend and enjoy yourself, I'm sure your Grandpa would want you to.

  9. Sorry for your loss. Thank you for remembering our men and women who risk their lives to keep us safe and free. Happy 4th of July.

  10. Thank you :o)...I am feeling a bit better today and have even gotten the brushes out...painting is for me, my greatest escape...calming & peaceful...Happy 4th!

  11. What a sweet (and honourable) Grandpa you had.
I think that is exactly what happened: your grandpa was sending you some love and comfort.

  12. What a wonderful sign you got your grandpa is watching over you from Heaven. :o)

  13. I can tell your Grandfather was your hero.....my prayers continue for your family. Thanks for the great post. XXX Anne
