We met with the Oncologist & we are not going to do surgery, Taffy would lose 1/2 his face, but we are going to try some alternative medicine, supplements, possible chemo, & a real meat diet. If Taffy starts to show other symptoms and/or his pain increases then we know we will have to let him go...but right now we are going to try & give him a fighting chance. ♥

Every prayer I've got is going for Taffy. God watch over your puppy and you and your family.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to hear about your sweet dog. AS a dog owner myself, I can identify with what you're feeling-- and I know it's awful. Prayers.

So sorry to hear about Taffy I do know exactly how you are feeling. My Jack Russell was operated on at the end of last year to remove a tumour and it was cancer. Six months down the line he is still a happy little dog showing no signs of ever being ill. I really hope that the drugs will stop the cancer spreading and your little boy has the chance to live a long, happy, normal life. Big Hugs Linda
ReplyDeleteThank you so much...I wish we had caught this sooner :(( I had just thought he had bumped his cheek...how wrong I was. Just praying we can get the tumor to stop growing & the chemo will kill the cancer cells...thank you all so very much for your support & prayers! xx LARA
ReplyDeleteLara, please email me at whimseyc@bellsouth.net I'm Delphi forum manager for the Magic Bullet Forum which helps fund cancer treatment for dogs whose families can't afford it. I'd be glad to send you the information and link to the website...they are wonderful people and the founder, Laurie has written a book about her dog and cancer. It has information about special diets, etc. I have a spare one and would also be glad to send it to you. In the meantime Taffy and your family will be in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteWill do, thank you so much. This has been heartbreaking but we are trying to do whatever we can to save Taffy. xx LARA
ReplyDeletemy email is Loveall4Him@aol.com...I will email you now.
I wish Taffy a sweet smooth recovery. Know that you are a great Mum to Taffy and you are doing all the right things and will in the future, because there is only love in your heart. xx
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry about this. I hope the other remedies ease any discomfort and help.
ReplyDeleteThank you...we know he cannot be 'cured' of this more than likely, but if we can shrink the tumor & prevent its' growth Taffy will have a fighting chance at life. God bless you all for your kind words, thought, & prayers!
