Not Ready to Say Goodbye...
My parents Black Lab, Pepper hasn't been eating the past few days & has been getting quite thin. She's been sleeping most of the day as she is 12 now, but I just cannot even 'go there'...none of us are ready to say goodbye to her...we've had her since she was a puppy...I remember the night we got her. She came through the front door like a bullet...so full of life & energy. Our Golden Retriever, Cassie was not at all thrilled that night, but eventually grew to tolerate Pepper & in time they became the best of buddies. We lost Cassie a few years back & our hearts still ache for her...how will we ever let go of our Pepper-pot?...I hate that big dogs don't last as long as the little ones...Small dogs seem to live forever...life just isn't fair. She's been such a good ol' girl.

It is so difficult to loose our beloved pets but the companionship and love they give us is so worth the pain. Blessing to you all through your sorrow and when the time is right I hope you are able to add a new companion to your life.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much <3
ReplyDeleteLara .. i am so sorry this is happening to Pepper .. she has a beautiful face .. makes me just want to nuzzle in with her and stare eye to eye .. i know your family with keep her comfortable and hold her in hearts .. my thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family and of course for Pepper ..
ReplyDeleteThank you <3...she has an appointment tomorrow at 10:15am...hoping for the best, preparing for the worst.
ReplyDeleteI know how you feel but believe me, not all small dogs live longer. Our little Pomeranians, Maverick and Dolly, were 10 and 9 when they quietly passed away. I'm glad we didn't have to put them down but they had a hereditary heart/lung condition. I really wish I had had some warning because both were so sudden.
